One person is missing after a fire at a home and detached garage on Fitchville Road in Bozrah early Wednesday morning, according to fire official.

Firefighters received the call reporting fire around 3:38 a.m.

John Way, the assistant fire chief and deputy fire marshal in Bozrah, said there was heavy fire when firefighters arrived, the house and the detached garage were on fire, and they had to secure some propane tanks that were near the house.

It's not yet clear which structure the fire started it.

One person who is believed to have been home when the fire started is unaccounted for, according to fire officials.

Firefighters have been battling the fire from the outside and have not yet gone into the residence.
