HOWELL, Mich. (WILX) - Two Men and a Truck and American Legion Post 141 held a “Stuff a Truck” food drive at the Kroger store in Howell Tuesday to support local veterans ahead of the holidays.
The organizations collected canned and non-perishable foods for veterans and families in need.
“A lot of people are having problems. We know about the situation with the SNAP and other foods. But also, there are a lot of veterans, not only veterans, but also widows who are in need of assistance,” said Michael Schlaack, First Vice Commander of American Legion 141.
The American Legion Post has a goal to collect more than 2,000 items this year. Other items needed include frozen vegetables, dinner rolls, and turkeys.
