NAPOLEON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WILX) - Napoleon Township’s Police and Fire Departments are warning residents about an electronic banking scam that has surfaced in the area.
Officials say several community members have lost large sums of money after encountering fake bank pop-ups, phishing links, and phone calls requesting verification codes.
Authorities urge residents never to share verification codes received online and never to transfer money without first confirming the source.
They recommend contacting your bank and local police immediately if you receive a suspicious call.
