LOUISVILLE, Ky. — At least nine people are dead and 16 others have been reported missing after a UPS cargo plane crashed and exploded near Louisville's international airport on Tuesday.
UPS Flight 2976 crashed around 5:15 p.m. local time Tuesday after taking off from the Louisville airport, the FAA said. The plane was headed to Honolulu. Three crew members were on board, according to UPS.
Officials on Wednesday morning said that nine victims have been found at the site of the UPS plane crash, but warned that the death toll could rise.
