A driver has rammed into a crowd of pedestrians and cyclists on a French island.
The incident took place on Ile d’Oleron, a quiet French island popular with tourists off the Atlantic coast.
Officials described the incident as a deliberate collision earlier today (November 5).
At least 10 people have been injured, with two left in a critical condition.

The driver, a local man in his 30s, was arrested by gendarmes (French paramilitary officers).
A source told the Mirror that the alarm was raised shortly after 8.45am.
Dolus-d’Oleron mayor Thibault Brechkoff said multiple incidents took place in the towns of Saint Pierre and Dolus.
