Wrexham star James McClean allegedly punched a fan before his side's Carabao Cup clash against rivals Cardiff.
McClean is said to have hit the supporter in self-defence ahead of the game on October 28, in which the Red Dragons lost 2-1.
According to the Daily Mail, the former Republic of Ireland international was involved in a back-and-forth in a car park .
Cardiff sources have confirmed to the Mail that an altercation did take place between McLean and a Bluebirds fan.
They are said to have stressed that things began in a joking manner before it escalated between the two parties.
Insults are reported to have been exchanged and that is what led to a clash, during which McClean threw a punch.
