NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) -- A Norfolk man won nearly $300,000 in an online Virginia Lottery game.
Lottery officials say Joel Pitts was playing The Lamp when he had won a jackpot worth $284,283. “It’s a good year,” Mr. Pitts told Lottery officials when he claimed his prize.
The progressive game is one of dozens available on the Virginia Lottery app and at valottery.com. The odds per game of winning a prize are 1 in 3.55.
The recent retiree has no specific plans for his winnings but does plan to donate some.
