PHOENIX — A major road in Mesa was closed on Wednesday morning due to a barricade situation.

According to the Mesa Police Department, officers responded to a home in the area of University Drive and Greenfield Road after being called about a domestic violence situation.

Responding officers found a female victim, who was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for multiple injuries.

Officers are working to speak with the suspect, who was still inside the home.

University Drive was closed near Greenfield Road due to the situation.

No other details were released.
