The NHS faces a “tough long winter” as it faces ongoing strikes and one of the longest and intense flu seasons for some years, Wes Streeting has warned.
In an article for The i Paper , the Health Secretary said the Government and NHS were already stress-testing the resilience of hospitals and the wider health service to prepare for the increased demand over the next three months.
Streeting pledged that he would do everything possible to prepare for the winter crisis so that it would not be “another ordeal but the start of lasting change”. New Feature
