MONROE — After an unprecedented year for the Monroe County Board of Commissioners, a new face is hoping to join the dais, promising a fresh start.
With all precincts in District 2 reporting Tuesday night, Republican Dale Biniecki led with about 56 percent of the unofficial vote over his opponents.
Democrat Danielle Hoover received about 35 percent of the vote, and former Commissioner Mark Brant, who ran with no party affiliation, received less than 10 percent of the unofficial vote. In previous elections Brant has run as a Republican.
“It feels really good,” Mr. Biniecki said of his win. “I have a lot of allies, that are like me, that want integrity on the Monroe County commission.”
Mr. Biniecki won the Republican primary in August after earning about 79 percent of the vote. Ms. Hoover
