Defenseman Jacob Truscott joined the Toledo Walleye on Wednesday.

Truscott, a rookie who was a captain at the University of Michigan, was assigned to Toledo from its American Hockey League affiliate in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Wednesday.

Truscott, 23, made his pro debut with Grand Rapids on Oct. 18 against the Manitoba Moose. He tallied his first pro point with an assist on Oct. 28 at Iowa. Through two games as a pro, the Port Huron, Mich., native has one assist, zero penalty minutes, and an even plus-minus rating.

Truscott was the 144th overall pick by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2020 NHL draft.

Prior to turning pro, Truscott spent five seasons at Michigan and totaled a combined 70 points with 12 goals and 58 assists to go along with 119 penalty minutes. He had a plus-44 rating in 166
