Several school districts in the area were placed on lock down as a precaution after what was believed was a “perceived threat” about firearms Wednesday morning, Luzerne County District Attorney Sam Sanguedolce said.
Sanguedolce said the schools — Lake Lehman, Dallas, Wyoming Area and Northwest — decided to go into lockdown procedure as a “precaution” after the alleged threat was reportedly made.
Wyoming Valley West and their elementary schools and West Side Vocational Technical Center are also on a lockdown.
“At this time, we don’t believe the threat was directed particularly at any school district or school at all. The threat was reportedly made in the vicinity of a certain school,” Sanguedolce said.
