The Columbiana County Health District is offering prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screenings by appointment on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
The screenings are free for residents of the Columbiana County General Health District, and $25 cash for participants living outside of the General Health District (including Salem and East Liverpool cities) or outside of Columbiana County, according to a news release.
The release states that the American Cancer Society recommends annual PSA screenings for:
-Men age 50 and older
-African-American men starting at age 45, due to a higher risk of prostate cancer
-Men with a family history of prostate cancer, also beginning at age 45
The event takes place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Nov. 18 at the Health District office, located at 7360 State route 18 in Lisbon.
