Several Miss Universe contestants walked out of a pre-pageant event following a tense confrontation on Tuesday.

It all started when Miss Mexico Fátima Bosch declined pageant executive Nawat Itsaragrisil’s request for all the contestants to “promote the host country” on their social media pages.

“Be careful. You are in Thailand,” he warned. “You are in a game.”

The heated disagreement, which was captured on a livestream , escalated when Itsaragrisil scolded Bosch for refusing to participate in a photo shoot about Thailand, while he kept insisting that she verbally confirm her willingness to share a post promoting the country.

“I heard you’re not going to support everything about Thailand. Is that true?” he asked.
