Strong winds throughout New Jersey are in the forecast for Nov. 5 and 6 as utility companies prepare for potential outages.
Winds gusts are expected to ramp up between 7 and 8 p.m. on Nov. 5, said National Weather Service meteorologist Dominic Ramunni.
Winds are expected to peak overnight between midnight and 6 a.m. on Nov. 6. Wind gusts are expected to reach between 40 and 45, even 50 mph, said Ramunni.
NWS issued a wind advisory for North Jersey which is in effect from 9 p.m. on Nov. 5 until 8 a.m. on Nov. 6.
Utility company braces for outages
Orange & Rockland, the utility company that serves southeastern counties in New York which border New Jersey, is preparing for high winds to impact electricity in the area.
