AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) - Augusta City Manager Jared Mills says this is now where the hard work begins.
The City will look in the nationwide open market for the best rate on a bond starting in the new year.
He says now that question one has passed, folks at the Fire Department, Civic Center and others are already preparing for upgrades and repairs once the money comes in.
Money will also go toward road infrastructure throughout the city once the construction season begins next year.
“The other thing about borrowing is you have only up to so many years to spend that money,” said Mills. “In the borrowing that we’ve done last year, we still actually haven’t spent all of those funds because we couldn’t get all the projects done in this construction season.
