BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A new nonprofit hub is now open in Bangor.

Heart of Maine United Way held a ribbon cutting Wednesday afternoon for its new space on Mount Hope Ave, “The Community.”

Not only will the hub serve as Heart of Maine United Way’s headquarters, it will also be a shared space for any and all Maine nonprofits.

Organization leaders say the intent behind The Community is multifaceted. It aims to be a cost-effective option for nonprofits mindful of their bottom line, while also providing a shared space for brainstorming, collaboration, and training.
