NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) - Tuesday was a big night for democrats across the state , including in New Haven and Hamden.
Mayor Justin Elicker was re-elected to another term in New Haven. Over the town line in Hamden, voters picked a first time mayor with a familiar name.
“I will be a mayor for all of Hamden, whether you voted for me or not. I will always listen and work on your behalf,” said Adam Sendroff, mayor-elect (D).
Sendroff said he’s ready to get to work as Hamden’s next mayor.
“Hamden is at a crossroads and is facing an incredibly challenging time,” he said.
Unofficial numbers showed the democrat captured 60% of the vote in a four-way race.
Touting his experience and name recognition, Sendroff previously served as board of education chair and ran the town’s community center
