HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - bullet-resistant That frightening fact is why all the exterior windows at Hancock County High School now have a bullet-resistant laminate made by Safe Haven Defense.
Wednesday, the stopping power of that glass film was put to the test during a demonstration for schools and law enforcers from Moss Point to Waveland.
Safe Haven Defense founder and president Steven Johnson led the demo. He began by chucking a fist-sized rock at a pane of glass covered in a competitor’s bullet-resistant film. It smashed right through with little resistance.
Johnson, a career law enforcer, said he was inspired to find a better solution after he saw how products on the market were claiming ballistic resistance, yet crumbled under pressure.
