A Springfield Township mother has learned her sentence after a 16-year-old boy with autism died while locked in a utility closet.

Police said the teenager died in February 2024 , with a monthslong investigation leading to the arrest of Tamara Moore. Advertisement

According to the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office, the coroner's report revealed the boy had been chained to a cot and denied food for a significant amount of time leading up to his death.

Moore pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment on Wednesday. She was sentenced to 15-21 years in prison.

Earlier this year, Moore’s boyfriend William Turnage also pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and child abuse, in connection to the boy's death. He was sentenced to 11-15 years behind
