MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Two men were shot after gunfire erupted at Hillview Drive Apartments early Wednesday morning.

According to the Memphis Police Department, officers responded at 1:44 a.m. and found several spent shells and blood in the complex.

A man in the complex who did not want to show his face on camera or be named out of fear of retaliation described when he heard the gunfire: “Boom boom boom boom boom. Boom boom boom boom boom.”

According to MPD, one victim was shot in the parking lot in his rear left thigh. Witnesses told officers that another vehicle pulled up, placing the victim in the rear seat, and eventually drove him to a fire station at 1150 Getwell Road.
