UPSTATE NEWS: SC State Guard helping families affected by delayed SNAP benefits

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - Greenville County Council believes they’ve found a way to fund road and bridge projects without raising taxes: keeping a larger share of revenue from fee-in-lieu-of-tax (FILOT) agreements.

The agreements are tax incentives given to companies that set up shop in the county, designed to promote economic development.

The state of Greenville County’s roads and bridges is something Vice Chairman Rick Bradley says is a constant complaint from Greenville County residents.

“The biggest complaint that all the council members get are 'The roads are terrible, the roads are terrible.' So, to fix the roads and not raise taxes, we have to redo the percentages on the FILOT," Bradley told 7
