KIT CARSON COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - One teenager was killed and two were airlifted following a crash in Kit Carson County on Wednesday, according to Colorado State Patrol (CSP).
CSP said troopers were called out to the crash on Highway 385 near mile marker 191, about 1.5 miles north of Burlington, around 11:39 a.m.
Troopers said a 2001 Ford Focus, with five male teens inside, was stopped northbound on the highway, waiting to take a left turn at the intersection of Kit Carson County Road X, when a Jeep, driven by a 21-year-old woman, travelling northbound, rear-ended the Ford.
CSP said the impact of the crash sent both vehicles off the road and into a nearby field.
