NEW JERSEY (PIX11) -- The US Justice Department says it’s intercepted a terror ring inspired by ISIS and plotting attacks in New Jersey. Officials allege it was being run by former student athletes in Montclair.

Two suspects appeared before a judge tonight after one was arrested trying to leave the country.

In the tiny township of Montclair, classified among the safest in America by the FBI, federal authorities descended on the suburban oasis after allegedly uncovering terrorism sympathizers.
