NORWOOD, Mass. —

A woman was flown to the hospital on Wednesday night after being hit by a truck in Norwood, Massachusetts.

The collision occurred in the area of Dean Street at Pleasant Street.

The victim was taken to Norwood Airport, where a medical helicopter was waiting.

She was transported, and her condition remains unknown at this time.

The driver of a brown pickup truck involved in the crash remained at the scene.

It's unclear if any charges will be filed.

No further information was immediately available.

Earlier in the day on Wednesday, a 29-year-old man was killed in a crash that forced part of Route 1 to be closed for several hours.

The victim's mother describes him as "an awesome son" who will be deeply missed.
