On Wednesday at 8:58 p.m. a severe thunderstorm warning was released by the National Weather Service in effect until 9:45 p.m. for Sullivan County.
Residents should prepare for wind gusts of up to 60 mph.
"At 8:58 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Hankins to near Honesdale to near Moscow, moving east at 70 mph," says the weather service. "Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees."
Locations impacted by the warning include Fallsburg, Monticello, Lackawaxen, Blooming Grove, Honesdale, Liberty, Bethel, Paupack, Damascus and Neversink.
The weather service adds, "For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building."
