SAN ANTONIO — A 46-year-old man who had been criminally charged after allegedly causing a June wreck that killed a young mother took his own life, according to the woman's family, who cited their attorney.
The medical examiner's office says Colin Matthew McGuane died on Oct. 20. Court records indicate McGuane was indicted Aug. 27 on multiple charges related to the crash, which happened the night of June 3 in far west San Antonio.
That night, officials say, McGuane was driving the wrong direction when he slammed into Karina Ramirez's car along the 3800 block of Harry Wurzbach Road.
Ramirez, 28, died at the scene. Also in the car were her 9 and 7-year-old girls, who spent time recovering in the hospital from injuries.
