LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - In a moment of need, Louisvillians don’t need to look any further to find help.

Shortly after UPS flight 2976 went down, emergency first responders from several counties began their tireless work at the scene.

It wasn’t long before Kentucky Baptist Convention’s Disaster Relief Team stepped up.

“Our hearts are torn and hurt for the people affected,” Director Ron Crow said.

The non-profit provided hot meals to 350 first responders in the immediate aftermath.

Crow got the first call at 8:18 p.m. Tuesday night, a little more than three hours after the crash. By midnight, a crew of 15 volunteers, had fed the first responders at the crash site.
