SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- America will get a chance to celebrate South Dakota on Jan. 1.
Travel South Dakota, the state's tourism department, will have a Rose Parade float called "Carved in Stone: A Legacy of Teamwork." The entry's focus is the faces of Mount Rushmore, but it will also feature the Dignity statue, thundering bison, and other elements of the state's cultural landscape, according to a department news release.
The float will have almost 40,000 floral elements. Corn, wheat, and sunflowers will be used. Textured rust cornsilk will be used for the bison's coat.
An estimated 800,000 people watched the 2025 parade live in Pasadena, according to media reports. An estimated 750,000 watched it live in 2024
