TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - As the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients in East Texas faced an unprecedented delay in their November payments, marking the first missed disbursement in 60 years, one local resident has stepped up to ensure families don’t go hungry this holiday season.

Lacy Warren, 25, affectionately known as “The Turkey Angel,” was moved to action by the financial strain on Tyler families.

“I just want to help take some of that load off of people, and also, nobody deserves to be hungry,” Warren said.

Warren has transformed her home into a community pantry, coordinating with volunteers to fulfill grocery lists for families in need. The initiative is deeply personal for her.
