Mississippi State's Ally Perry had a top-corner finish in the 59th minute to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 victory over the University of Arkansas women's soccer team Tuesday at the SEC Tournament in Pensacola, Fla.
With the win, Mississippi State (12-5-1) became the first No. 8 seed to reach the SEC Tournament semifinals since Florida in 2018.
"The first half, I was getting opportunities. The coaches kept telling me to shoot, so I got the touch out wide and I just ripped it, to be honest," Perry, the SEC midfielder of the year, said on SEC Network. "I was so close in the first half, I was like, 'One's bound to go in, hopefully.' "
The Razorbacks -- who won the SEC regular-season title -- now await their seeding for the NCAA Tournament. That will be announced during the selection show Monday
