New York State Police are investigating the death of a woman found inside a home on Arrowbend Drive in Williamson, Wayne County, Wednesday afternoon.

Troopers responded around 4:30 p.m. for a welfare check and discovered an adult woman dead with signs of trauma, authorities said. The residence was secured, and a criminal investigation is underway.

Members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Troop E Major Crimes Unit, and Forensic Investigation Unit responded to the scene.

State police said the investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
