YOUNGSTOWN Investigators are looking for the cause of an overnight fire on Youngstown’s East Side.

Firefighters were called out before 2 a.m. Thursday to investigate a reported house fire at the corner of Scioto and Kimmel Streets.

The first firefighter to arrive reported flames and smoke coming from the house.

The fire department tells 21 News that it appears that the fire broke out in the home’s kitchen and spread to the walls.

Crews put out the fire, saying the home was vacant and no one was injured.
