A dad with nothing but Spongebob SquarePants underwear took down a man allegedly trying to steal his car. Dean Bathurst and his two sons jumped into action after noticing a man acting suspiciously at their home in Bindoon, near Perth in Western Australia on Tuesday (November 4).

Mr Bathurst's daughter was the first to raise the alarm after she allegedly saw a man pulling wires from the dashboard of the car. The 57-year-old dad jumped into action running outside in just his bright yellow "jocks".
