NORTH VERNON, Ind. — Two southern Indiana parents are facing four preliminary charges each after their 8-month-old daughter was found suffering .
Jennings County Sheriff's Office detectives were made aware of alleged child neglect involving an 8-month-old in North Vernon by the Indiana Department of Child Services.
During the investigation into the report, officials found the infant suffering from " severe malnourishment, hygiene-related neglect, severe dermatitis, and developmental delays ," according to the JCSO.
The JCSO also shared that at eight months old, it was determined that the girl weighed only about 9 pounds.
