A Bengaluru woman urged commuters to stay alert after alleging that a cab driver used a fake version of a ride-hailing app to charge her more than the official fare. The warning, posted by Meenal Goel on LinkedIn and Instagram, has gone viral and prompted the company -Rapido- to suspend the driver involved.

Meenal Goel said she booked a cab from Kempegowda International Airport to her home, with the official app showing a fare of ₹532. The ride proceeded normally, she said, until the driver claimed the fare displayed on his app was ₹650 and insisted she pay immediately.
