Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority chief administrative officer Leilani Lee-Yates is assuring staff and the public the authority’s commitments to protecting the environment will continue “without disruption” following the provincial government’s proposal to amalgamate 36 authorities into seven regional entities.

In emailed responses to questions by Niagara This Week, Lee-Yates, who became CAO in 2024, said NPCA’s programs on shoreline protection, watershed management and land securement will “remain business as usual.”

And until after the fall 2026 municipal election, NPCA’s board members and financial arrangements with other organizations will “remain in place and continue as usual,” she said.
