A Webster man who originally was charged with first-degree reckless homicide by delivering drugs pleaded guilty to amended charges during an Oct. 31, 2025 appearance before Judge Monica Isham in Sawyer County Circuit Court.
Calvin D. Riley 34, pleaded guilty to delivering 10 grams or less of Fentanyl May 20, 2022 and guilty to delivering schedule 1 or 2 narcotics (heroin) Aug. 11, 2020 (second and subsequent offense) in the town of Hayward. A charge of felony bail jumping was dismissed but read in.
Riley will be sentenced on Dec. 17.
According to the criminal complaint, Gerald Rusk, 44, was found deceased at his residence at 14282W County Road E, in the town of Sand Lake north of Whitefish Lake, on May 22, 2022.
