A UK coroner has called for full reports and eyewitness statements before a final inquest into the death of One Direction star Liam Payne.

Senior Coroner Crispin Butler told a pre-inquest review that there are 'continuing investigations in Argentina into the circumstances surrounding Liam’s death'.

The Wolverhampton-born signer died when he fell from the balcony of his third floor hotel room at Casa Sur Hotel, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in October 2024.

A post-mortem examination report said the 31-year-old died of multiple traumas, as well as 'internal and external haemorrhage'.

A court in Argentina dropped charges of criminal negligence in February against three out of the five people who were charged in connection with Payne's death.
