LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WXIX) - The cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder were both recovered from the wreckage of the deadly UPS plane crash in Louisville.

The National Transportation Safety Board posted a photo of the recorders from the MD-11 cargo plane on Thursday morning.

With both of these devices , NTSB should be able to hear conversations between the flight crew, radio transmissions with air traffic control, engine noises and data on the aircraft’s performance, such as the engine’s status.

UPS says three crew members were on the plane when it crashed during takeoff at Muhammad Ali International Airport around 5:15 p.m.

The cargo plane was carrying 38,000 gallons of fuel, creating flames that burned for hours, Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said during a press conference.
