BLACKSBURG, S.C. (WBTV) - More than 500 pounds of methamphetamine were taken from a trailer in what Cherokee County deputies called the department’s second-largest meth operation in its history.
The drugs were found on Nov. 4, while deputies were searching a trailer off Kings Creek Ford Road in Blacksburg in an ongoing drug investigation. According to deputies, the amount of meth taken had a street value of $1.5-1.7 million.
Chemicals from meth lab operations and a stolen 2005 Range Rover from Cleveland County were also found, deputies said.
Two people were arrested: 51-year-old Billie Lee Pitts and 47-year-old Joseph Todd Martin. Both people were charged with distribution of methamphetamine and methamphetamine more than 400 grams.
