Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland has died at age 24, the team announced.
“It is with extreme sadness that the Dallas Cowboys share that Marshawn Kneeland tragically passed away this morning,” the Cowboys wrote in a statement on Thursday, November 6. “Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of our organization. Our thoughts and prayers regarding Marshawn are with his girlfriend Catalina and his family.”
The team did not disclose how Kneeland died, but a spokesperson for the Plano Police Department told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that officers responded to a “a welfare concern” at his residence at 11:40 p.m. on Wednesday night, November 5. They were unable to make contact with anyone inside.
Kneeland was a 2024 second-round draft pick for Dallas out of Western Michigan
