LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Stooges Bar and Grill had a devastatingly close seat for the UPS plane crash. The restaurant was not hit by the MD-11, but the flames and smoke were dangerously close to the establishment.

Owner Debbie Self got on social media to confirm that the restaurant appeared to be okay. She noted that they had not been allowed access to the site.

The area around the crash site is currently blocked off to allow NTSB investigators

“Stooges appears to be okay, but we have not been allowed back in yet. We will be closed until further notice.

We are so beyond thankful that every patron and staff member made it out safely yesterday — we are thanking God for His protection.
