Thane, Nov 6: The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Thane Police has arrested four suspected drug peddlers from Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur district after seizing mephedrone worth Rs 2.14 crore from their car, officials said on Wednesday.
According to Senior Inspector Rahul Mhask, the ANC team intercepted a suspicious vehicle near the MTNL office in Charai on Monday evening. A search of the car led to the discovery of 1.716 kg of mephedrone — a banned synthetic drug — hidden inside. The vehicle was subsequently seized.
The accused were identified as Imran alias Bacchu Kizhar Khan (37), Vakas Abdulrab Khan (30), Takuddin Rafique Khan (30), and Kamlesh Ajay Chouhan (23), all residents of Mandsaur.
