NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A man was charged Wednesday in a shooting that wounded a 32-year-old last month in New Haven.
On Oct. 26, around 8:42 p.m., authorities were dispatched to the area of Maltby Place for a person shot. At the scene, police found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police said Keith Highsmith, 64, of New Haven, allegedly stole his car and drove from the scene following a dispute that they had.
Highsmith was charged with assault in the first degree, robbery in the first degree, larceny in the second degree, criminal possession of a firearm, and carrying a pistol without a permit.
He is a convicted felon and was on probation at the time of the incident, police said. He remains in custody on a $300,000 bond.
