NEWINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A military veteran in Newington was gifted a car as part of Progressive Insurance's "Keys to Progress" vehicle giveaway.
George Rogers III, who served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Groton, is a father of five and also cares for his uncle, who has cerebral palsy. He said his family's two aging vans were unreliable and made it difficult to support his kids and the community.
"From the very first phone call I had with him, I could tell he's just someone who loves his family," said Avgoustis Tiniakos from Progressive Insurance. "He's had his good share of hurdles he's had to crawl over, but he's resilient. He just keeps doing what he needs to do to support his family."
The car, which was donated by Enterprise Rent-A-Car, was fully detailed and came with a
