SEBRING, Ohio - A Sebring Judge has recused himself in the case of a village police officer accused of domestic violence.
According to court records, Judge Joe Schiavoni has recused himself in the case of 25-year-old Dillon Vesey, an officer with the Sebring Police Department, who is facing a misdemeanor domestic violence charge.
Court records show Vesey's case has been transferred to Mahoning County Court #2 in Boardman to be assigned for pretrial.
At this time, the circumstances leading up to Vesey's arrest are unclear, but a report from the Mahoning County Sheriff's Office reveals that deputies were called to a home at the corner of W. Indiana Avenue and N. 16th Street for a domestic violence incident shortly after noon on Halloween.
