A waitlist for a new project recently opened and hundreds of people have already applied.

“I'm just really excited. I think it's going to be transformative,” Jill Corrado, West Hartford Housing Authority executive director, said.

This $27 million project is what’s being called The Elle at North Main in West Hartford.

Right now, crews are transforming a former synagogue into 49 apartments – 80% of which will be affordable.
