West Coast star Harley Reid has broken his silence on his decision to recommit to the club and resist the lure home to Victoria.
The former No.1 draft pick signed a two-year extension through to the end of 2028.
The deal is reportedly worth as much as $2m per season, making him among the highest paid players in the league.
Reid's contract status has been hotly debated, even before he was drafted by the Eagles, with some predicting he would depart before signing even a second contract with the club.
However, he did re-sign short term at the very least.
"The players - on field, it probably hasn't gone to plan as much as we would like - But yeah, I think they play a big part of why I wanted to stay," Reid exclusively told 9News Perth.
