KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Aqua Membranes, a New Mexico-based manufacturer that develops high-efficiency water-filtration technology, officially opened its newest U.S. facility in Knoxville Thursday.
The company is investing $6.5 million in the new 200,000-square-foot building at the Forks of the River Industrial Park and creating 95 new jobs. The project marks Aqua Membranes’ first expansion outside its Albuquerque headquarters and will help the company meet growing demand for its patented reverse-osmosis membranes, which improve how water is purified and reused.
The technology is used in industries such as beverage production and semiconductor manufacturing, as well as in communities around the world working to enhance water quality and efficiency.
